Puppy Foundations Programme

Bringing a puppy home is exciting, but it can also feel like a lot. Biting, pulling, overexcitement, not listening outside… most of the issues we see later on start here.

This 4 session programme is tailored to you and your puppy, and designed to give you a clear structure from the beginning, so your puppy grows into a calm, confident, and easy-to-live-with dog.

Rather than dragging things out over months, we focus on giving you the right foundations early, so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

What we focus on

​

We don’t just teach commands. We focus on the things that actually shape behaviour day to day. Over the programme, we'll cover:

  • Calm engagement and focus

  • Boundaries in the home

  • Reducing biting, jumping, and overexcitement

  • Lead walking foundations

  • Recall foundations

  • Appropriate socialisation

  • Confidence in new environments

  • Understanding how your puppy learns

Everything is tailored to your puppy and your lifestyle, so it works in real life, not just during sessions.

How it Works

​

The programme is delivered across 4 structured sessions, designed to build on each other and give you a clear plan to follow.

​

  • 4 x 1:1 training sessions

  • Sessions take place in your home and real-world environments

  • A training programme and training guide for each week

  • Support between sessions if you need it

​

Each session builds on the last, so you’re not just learning what to do, but why you’re doing it.

Why it Works

​

Most puppy training focuses on quick wins. Sit, down, paw.

But what really matters is how your dog behaves the rest of the time. This programme is designed to:

​

  • Prevent common behaviour issues before they start

  • Build calmness and understanding early

  • Give you the skills to handle your dog as they grow

​

So you’re not left trying to fix problems later down the line. 

 

The 4 Session Puppy Foundations Programme costs £350.

Additional sessions are available if needed as your puppy develops.

A clear path beyond training

​For clients local to Otley, Menston, and Burley-in-Wharfedale, training doesn’t have to stop after the programme.

Once your puppy is ready, we offer the option to introduce them to our walking pack in a calm and structured way. This helps them learn how to be around other dogs properly, rather than becoming overexcited or overwhelmed.

From there, your puppy would also be welcome to:

  • Join our walking pack on a regular basis

  • Be included in our adventure days

  • Continue building confidence in real-world environments

​

This gives you a clear next step, and helps maintain everything you’ve built during training.​​
